Event Forwarding and Google Ads Event Conversions Extension

As Meta Conversions API extension was available for Event Forwarding.

Event forwarding in Adobe Experience Platform allows you to send collected event data to a destination for server-side processing. Event forwarding decreases web page and app weight by using Adobe Experience Platform Edge Network to execute tasks normally done on the client. Implemented in a similar manner to tags, event forwarding rules can transform and send data to new destinations, but instead of sending this data from a client application like a web browser, it is sent from Adobe’s servers.

Recently Adobe announce that the Google Ads Event Conversions Extension is now GA.

This release also includes a new Secret that enables Google OAuth 2.0 authentication. This extension is available to all RTCDP Collection, Prime, and Ultimate customers within the Event Forwarding extension catalog. These were developed in partnership with Google and Evolytics.

WHAT PROBLEM(S) IT SOLVE?

Customers want to quickly implement the Google Conversions API (cAPI) to securely collect event data real-time, server side and forward it to Google for Ad enrichment and attribution.

THE SOLUTION

The extension delivers a “turn-key”, user friendly solution to implement the Google Conversions API (cAPI) to start collecting event data server side. This provides advertisers with a server-side solution that does not depend on soon to be deprecated 3rd party cookies.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Additionally, Adobe will release more such Event Forwarding extensions over the period of time.
